Using The Internet To Close The Advertising Circle

20 years ago, it used to be okay to produce a great commercial, buy some airtime and let the money roll in.

old school marketing techniquesThese days, with massive amounts of competition, both from brick and mortar and online competitors, marketers have to be even smarter and aware of the holes in their marketing that let dozens, if not hundreds of sales slip through their fingers every month. We run into business owners all the time that say “I'm advertising on TV and radio, offering specials, have a great product, and better prices than my competition. Why am I not getting more sales”? A quick survey of their marketing efforts generally reveals the answer -a lack of an online presence that gives the customer everything they need to make a decision on where to spend their money. 77% of consumers go online to research a product or service after seeing a commercial in traditional media, e.g TV, cable, radio, or newspaper. How much of your business is going to the competition if your competition shows up ahead of you on a Google search? Congratulations, you've just GIVEN your ad dollars to that competitor. If your website is so outdated that the consumer's perception of your company becomes tainted, what good did that fancy TV or Radio spot do? You only have one chance to make a first impression. Your website is that first impression for most consumers. No successful business owner would let their store fall into disrepair or keep antiquated equipment around would they? Of course not! So why do so many great companies neglect this essential component for success in today's marketplace?

The answer is simple. They just don't know the rules of online marketing. new rules for marketing online

Or who to trust, or which of the thousands of companies out there will actually deliver on the promises made during the sales pitch. Market Me Tennessee takes the guesswork out of the equation. We under promise and over deliver. We believe the old adage that “honest really is the best policy.” There are many people out there that will take your money and run, overcharge, or just plain not do what you paid them to do. Our aim is that in the long run, you will come back to us as your business grows and new marketing needs arise. Just remember, without effective SEO, online advertising, and a top notch website, there is a good chance that your advertising dollars are sending business straight to the competition. To your continued success. -John Maddox, VP of Sales, MMT

A GREAT Experience at Gojo Ethiopian Café in Nashville..

Upon our first visit to Gojo Ethiopian Café I wasn't sure what to expect. I had never tried Ethiopian food. To be truthful, I'd never even seen an Ethiopian restaurant, let alone one with so much character and nicely tucked away just inside of Nashville.gojo etheopian food Gojo is a small, warm, close-nit restaurant offering foods like Yebeg Alicha for $10.50 - Tender pieces of lamb simmered in mild sauce and seasoned with fresh ginger, garlic and tumeric. (personal favorite) and Kitfo (like steak tartar) for just $10.50 ) - Ground prime beef mixed with butter, mita-mita (chili powder). Served rare or well done, and add Ayib! (farmer's cheese)

After speaking with Amad, the manager at Gojo we took a visit and had some delicious food on the house. If you are looking for a unique place to take a date, the girlfriend or your husband/ wife, Gojo is one dining experience you'll not soon forget.

A few tips and tricks from the pro's here at Market Me Tennessee, a Nashville-based marketing and advertising agency: we specialize in search engine optimization for LOCAL companies.

So a few tips on search engine optimization..here goes:

1. INTERVIEW, interview, interview.
We always ask our clients to simply 'shop around' when looking into investing in search engine optimization. Now that may seem counter intuitive, as we're obviously biased on who we'd like you to choose, but its the best policy if you want real results that bring new clients through your doors as well as a price for search engine optimization (SEO) that you can stomach...umm..comfortably!

2. Don't buy the 'tag' hype.
There are several different things that the googlebot eats up..if you think of it in terms of food, Content to Google, Yahoo and MSN/ Bing search engines is like ...a juicy steak! Its fresh, interesting and makes the robot happy. Also think of what YOU want to find when you do a search. Google is good because it produces RELEVANT results. Therefor if we are going to optimize your site, it needs to have results relevant to YOUR consumer! Anyhow, the 'tag' hype is just some simple 'techie' jargon for words that google likes to look for. Some tags include global site meta tags. These describe your overall site to search engines.  Other tags include 'meta name keywords' tags..these are the list of hopefully relevant, hopefully non-repeated keywords google and others can use to find your site. We say non-repeated because to many folks disbelief, no one, including search engine robots wants to read the same thing over and over..this is known as keyword spamming. It may work for a short period until you get the infamous 'google slap!' -this is where google actually penalizes your site for spamming.

3. By now you're seeing why its good to be in the hands of professionals. So, do so! Hire a local, Nashville marketing firm for your search optimization efforts. We back up our nerdy knowledge with real results. Check our search engine optimization rankings page, here.

That's probably enough for now..check back for SEO tips and tricks from the Pro's at Market Me Tennessee parts 2 and 3 coming up soon!

Thanks for visitng the blog, and GET GOOGLEABLE!
